NAYAGARH, SEP 5 (Ramakrishna Rath): Marking the death anniversary of the beloved late Kumar Saheb Hemendra Chandra Singh and coinciding with Teachers' Day, a blood donation camp was organised by ‘Hemendra Sena’ at the Old Palace (Puruna Rajbati) here on Saturday morning.
The camp, which commenced at 9:00 AM, was jointly inaugurated by Rani Maa Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh, Khandapada MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Dushmanta Swain, Nayagarh Block Chairman Kishore Chandra Sahoo, Rajkumar Aranyaraj Kishore Singh, and Rajkumari Dakshyani Manjari Singh.

The dignitaries paid floral tributes to the statue of late Hemendra Singh situated at the palace. Following the tribute, a memorial meeting was held where the guests addressed the gathering, reflecting on the towering personality and profound contributions of the late leader. The memorial drew a massive crowd, with over 1,000 admirers and well-wishers of late Hemendra Singh in attendance.
During the camp, a total of 41 units of blood were collected by the medical team from the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital Blood Bank. As a mark of appreciation, all blood donors were felicitated with certificates for their noble contribution.
The event was successfully coordinated in the presence of Hemendra Sena’s President Dibya Ranjan Sahoo, General Secretary Mallick Mohammed Mubasir, Coordinator Anil Kumar Sahoo, and advisors Nasir Ahmed, Madhab Sahoo, Rajkishore Pusty, and Ranjan Rashmi Jena, alongside other members of the organisation.

In light of the blood scarcity at the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital, the organisation issued a public appeal through press releases and social media platforms, urging the residents of Nayagarh to step forward and donate blood to save lives.
Several prominent locals, including Akshay Kumar Nayak, Dillip Pradhan, Ramesh Pradhan, Rabindra Rout, Soumya Ranjan Pradhan, Gopal Mohapatra, Madhab Behera, Harasha Panda, Rajkishore Pradhan, Bapi Palei, Rajanikant Nanda, Balabhadra Patra, and Vishnu Prasad Sahoo, actively participated in the programme.
