NewsDelhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated instances of extremely heavy downpours, across Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana today. 
In addition to the primary alert, the meteorological agency has forecast heavy rainfall for a widespread area encompassing Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Similarly affected regions in the southern and western parts of the country include Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, and Maharashtra.
Furthermore, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected to prevail today over Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Rayalaseema.
Residents and local authorities in the affected regions are advised to monitor ongoing weather updates and standard advisories issued by the IMD.
