SINAPALI, August 1, 2026 (Report - Malaya Meher): Sunita Meher, Sarpanch of Sinapali Gram Panchayat, has launched an ongoing initiative to increase voluntary blood donation in the region. Every year on national holidays, the Gram Panchayat honors local blood donors with the "Sewa Veer" award to recognize their service and encourage youth participation. 
Social worker Buddhadev Meher supports this campaign. Together, they work to build awareness about blood donation across Sinapali and nearby villages.
Over the past four years, the Gram Panchayat has awarded the "Sewa Veer" title to 40 voluntary blood donors who donated blood during emergencies.
The recognised donors come from Sinapali and several neighboring villages, including Gambhariguda-Bharuamunda, Bargaon, Kapsi, Sagunbhadi, Litiguda, Hatibandha, Singjhar, Kandamunda and Mahulpada.
Sarpanch Sunita Meher announced that the Gram Panchayat will honor 10 more voluntary blood donors on Independence Day, August 15, 2026. She stated that public recognition motivates young people to donate blood and raises awareness across the community.
Social worker Buddhadev Meher emphasized the need for regular donations. He stated that every healthy and eligible individual should donate blood to prevent medical shortages during emergencies.
Local residents and community leaders have welcomed the initiative. Many citizens view the Sinapali Gram Panchayat model as an effective practical step to improve blood availability and public health awareness in Nuapada district.
