Bhubaneswar, August 1, 2026 (Lipikarani Raut): The Khordha District Administration and the District Education Office organised a district-level felicitation ceremony and Headmasters' Conference at the Skill Development Institute in Jatani. The event honoured students from government, private, and government-aided schools across Khordha district who secured A-1 grades in the recent matriculation examination. Organisers also recognised various teachers, headmasters, and educational contributors during the programme. 
Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Works, Law, and Excise, attended the event as the Chief Guest. He advised the students to focus on practical skill development alongside their regular academic studies. He encouraged young learners to understand their local environment and contribute to the progress of their respective areas. He also asked students to face real-world challenges directly and avoid unnecessary mental pressure during their educational journey.
Khordha District Collector Amrit Ruturaj presided over the ceremony and guided the students on future career planning. He advised students to choose their higher education courses based on their personal interests and strengths. According to him, selecting a field of personal interest helps students achieve their goals and supports overall skill development. He shared his personal experiences and reminded students to remain patient while working toward their objectives.
Several elected representatives attended the ceremony as Guests of Honour, including. Prashant Kumar Jagadev, Chairman of the District Planning Board and MLA, Khordha, Bibhuti Bhushan Balabantaray, MLA, Jatani, Rupashree Rani Gumansingh, Zilla Parishad President. The guests congratulated the top-performing students and spoke about the role of formal education in career building. They advised headmasters and teachers to maintain a supportive academic environment in schools and give equal importance to student creativity.
During the ceremony, officials presented recognition awards to the A-1 grade students and participating school teachers. The administration also felicitated representatives from the Suryaprabha Foundation for their support to the educational sector.
