Bhubaneswar: (Report- Rupashree Swetapadma Mohanty): Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania held a high-level meeting in Bhubaneswar on Friday to review security arrangements for the upcoming visit of President Droupadi Murmu. The President will arrive in Odisha on August 4. During the meeting, the DGP instructed all police units and security teams to follow the official 'Blue Book' rules. The Blue Book is an official security manual that lists mandatory protection protocols for the President and other high-ranking leaders. 
To ensure clear communication among different government agencies, the DGP ordered departments to appoint nodal officers. These officers will share information in real time and manage logistical requirements across departments. DGP Khurania instructed all teams from the State Police, Indian Railways, and the local administration to work together closely to execute the security plan without errors.
The comprehensive security plan focuses on travel routes and railway infrastructure. Security personnel will conduct anti-sabotage checks along every road and railway line the President will use. Police officers and security staff will patrol railway tracks continuously. Authorities will also place guards at all railway level crossings to monitor traffic and prevent unauthorized entry. Furthermore, officials are identifying railway employees who work on platform duty in advance. These staff members must wear mandatory identity passes while they work.
Alongside ground security, the police force is deploying drone cameras to monitor key locations from the air. Specialized security teams are inspecting all event venues, entry gates, and surrounding buildings. These continuous physical and aerial checks aim to secure all public areas before the President arrives.
Several senior police and railway officials attended the review meeting in Bhubaneswar to finalize the plans. The participants included R.P. Koche, Director (Intelligence), Sanjay Kumar, Additional DGP (Law & Order), Rajesh Kumar, Additional DGP (State Armed Police), Dr. Devadatta Singh, Police Commissioner (Bhubaneswar–Cuttack), Alok Bohra, Principal Chief Security Commissioner (East Coast Railway),Satyajit Naik, Inspector General of Police (Central Range) and Vivekananda Sharma, Superintendent of Police (CID–Crime Branch).
Through these structured preparations, the Odisha Police and partner agencies aim to manage traffic flow, secure all travel routes, and maintain safety standards throughout the visit on August 4.
