Nimapada, July 30 (Report- Ajay Mallick): Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida chaired a vital preparation meeting on Thursday evening. The meeting took place at the Nimapada Block Conference Hall. Officials discussed plans to manage potential floods in the region. The local administration wants to stay fully prepared for the upcoming monsoon challenges. 
Many key government officials attended the meeting. Sub-Collector Raj Kishore Jena and Block Development Officer Dr. Abhijit Sarangi took part in the discussion. Tahasildar Dr. Manoj Kumar Pradhan and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Janardan Padhi also joined the session. Additionally, Notified Area Council Executive Officer Chinmaya Kumar Das was present to share his inputs.
Representatives from various essential departments joined the gathering. Officials from the Irrigation Department and the Drinking Water Department attended the session. Staff from the Health Department and the Electricity Department also participated. Members of the Animal Husbandry Department and the Fire Department showed their presence. Officials identified about ten nearby panchayats that face a direct threat. Rising water levels can easily affect these specific villages. The Deputy Chief Minister asked the Panchayat Executive Officers of these areas to stay alert and remain present in their respective panchayats.
The Deputy Chief Minister ordered the officers to plan for safe evacuations. They must move the affected people to safe shelters immediately if water enters the villages. She also instructed them to store plenty of dry food. Officials must keep these food supplies ready for immediate distribution to the displaced residents.
Finally, the administration will open a 24-hour helpline center at the block office. This center will assist people around the clock. Deputy Chief Minister Parida advised the Block Development Officer and the Tahasildar to manage this helpline effectively. She also told them to stock enough polythene sheets for the public. People will need these sheets for temporary shelter protection. The local departments are now actively executing these preparation steps.
