TITILAGARH: (Report- Tirthankar Patel): A large group of women protested outside the local excise office today. They demand an immediate stop to the sale of illegal liquor in their area. The women want to save their families and village from this serious problem. They submitted a formal letter of demands to the authorities. 
The women come from Siarjhudung village. This village falls under the Manigaon panchayat of the Titilagarh block. They are active members of the Maa Tanapana Self-Help Group. Saimati Kariha is the president of this group. She led the peaceful protest today. Many women from different sections of the village joined her. They marched to the local excise office to show their deep concern. They raised their voices against the ongoing illegal activities in their hometown.
The protesters wanted to meet Excise Officer Pravin Sahu. However, he was not present at the office. Therefore, the women met Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhugupati Digal. They handed their written memorandum to him. They explained their problems clearly and directly. Assistant Sub-Inspector Digal accepted their letter. He listened to their issues and promised the women that the department will take strict action soon.
The written document highlights a very old problem. Bad elements have been selling illegal liquor in the village for many years. The villagers have tried to stop this many times.
