NABARANGPUR: The much-awaited Jeypore-Nabarangpur railway line project has taken a major step forward. The local administration organized a special program today in Nabarangpur town to distribute compensation money to people who gave up their land for this grand project.
During the event, officials distributed a total of ₹255,26,49,928 to 237 beneficiaries. All these landowners belong to four specific villages under the Nandahandi tehsil area. These villages include Dahibhata, Nuaguda, Gadabaguda, and Sindhiguda.
Several top leaders and government officials attended the event to support the local families. School and Mass Education Minister Nityanand Gond joined the program as the chief guest. Member of Parliament Balabhadra Majhi and District Planning Board Chairman-cum-MLA Gourishankar Majhi also attended the event.
The leaders personally handed over the compensation cheques and official documents to the villagers. In his address, Minister Nityanand Gond praised the farmers and landowners for their support. He stated that their contribution will help build a brighter future for the entire region. The other guests noted that the new railway line will transform the local economy and improve transport links for thousands of citizens.
District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain managed the event smoothly. Senior land revenue officers, railway department authorities, and a large number of local residents participated in the gathering. The administration completed the entire verification and payment process with total transparency, which brought immense satisfaction to the affected families.
