Athagarh, April 21, 2026 (Rupashree Swetapadma Mohanty): The 10th anniversary was organised by weekly newspaper ‘Udaya Labanya’ at Mahavir Plaza, Athagarh on Monday, marking Akshaya Tritiya. The newspaper works for promotion of literature, culture and tradition.
The event, coordinated by newspaper editor Shri Lalatendu Senapati, was attended by Shri Prana Krushna Dash, president of ‘Athagarh Gadajata Parikrama’, as chief guest. Eminent litterateur, critic and researcher Dr. Narayan Panda joined as the keynote speaker.
Social worker and litterateur Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Mishra, ATBN Advocates’ Association president Shri Fani Bhusan Rath, BJP National Council member Shri Brajendra Ray and social worker Shri Ranjan Kumar Das were among the dignitaries present on the dais.
On the occasion, senior journalists Shri Sudhi Ranjan Dash and Shri Sanatan Ray were felicitated. The ‘Udaya Labanya Business Award’ was presented to RP Science College, Bidharpur; SSM Higher Secondary School, Athagarh; Vidyarthi Residential Higher Secondary School, Dhenkanal; Rajashree Emporium, Athagarh; and Mahadev Motors, Athagarh.
A discussion titled ‘Role of Leaders and Citizens in Athagarh’s Development’ was also held. Chief guest Shri Dash said, "‘Udaya Labanya’, which reflects Athagarh’s heritage, literature and culture, is the pride of the region. Honouring the stars of our own soil is a welcome step.”
Editor Shri Lalatendu Senapati delivered the welcome address. Athagarh Sahitya Samaj president Shri Suresh Chandra Parida introduced the guests while Shri Ganesh Prasad Rout proposed the vote of thanks. Many litterateurs, culture lovers, educationists and youth from Athagarh attended the programme.
