NAYAGARH, APRIL 21: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The Nayagarh district administration organized a beautiful mass marriage ceremony on Tuesday. A local non-governmental organisation named "SEBA" partnered with the administration for this event. They held the grand ceremony at the local Pathani Samanta Auditorium. Exactly 22 couples tied the knot during this special day. The organizers conducted the entire event under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana. This government scheme helps families celebrate marriages with dignity and joy. The planners managed the ceremony very well. They ensured peace and order throughout the entire celebration.

A Festive and Spiritual Atmosphere

Workers decorated the auditorium premises very beautifully. The decoration created a happy and festive mood for everyone. Organisers set up 22 separate marriage altars for the couples. They also prepared 22 individual holy fire pits. The administration invited 22 priests to perform the marriage rituals. The priests chanted traditional Vedic mantras aloud. Musicians played auspicious traditional music during the ceremony. The sound of mantras and music filled the air. This created a highly emotional and deeply spiritual atmosphere across the town.

Leadership and Community Praise

District Collector Madhumita Rath attended the mass marriage event personally. She watched over the arrangements with great care. Sanjay Subudhi acts as the chief guide for the SEBA organisation. He managed the ground activities very smoothly. People across the entire Nayagarh district praised this joint effort. Citizens appreciated the administration and the NGO for completing such a noble social task.

Future Goals and Expansion

Later, the organisers held a special awareness meeting. District Collector Madhumita Rath presided over this meeting. Khandapada MLA Dusmanta Kumar Swain attended the meeting as the Chief Guest. He also serves as the Chairman of the District Planning Board. He gave an inspiring speech to the audience. He shared a big vision for the future. He challenged the district to expand this social program. He wants the district to organise a grand mass marriage for 100 couples next time. He expressed his wish to invite the Chief Minister to bless those future couples.

Many important local leaders and officials attended the ceremony as Guests of Honor. Zilla Parishad Chairman Engineer Debashish Patnaik joined the celebration. Municipality Chairperson Nirupama Khatei also graced the event. Additional District Magistrate Rojina Das and Sub-Collector Karnadev Samadar participated actively. District Information and Public Relations Officer Jyotsnamayi Acharya attended to show her support. Social Welfare Officer Jayashree Patnaik and SEBA representative Sanjay Kumar Subudhi were also present. All these respected guests met the newly married couples. They give blessings to the brides and grooms.

The beautiful ceremony came to a successful end. Different departments of the district administration stepped forward to help the couples. Various volunteer organisations also joined hands to support the newlyweds. They distributed special wedding gifts to every couple. The couples received a traditional bridal gift box called a 'Jhia Pedi'. The organisers also gave them many other useful household items. Everyone wished the couples a very happy and prosperous married life.
