Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will visit Rourkela, Odisha, on April 21. The Odisha state government is actively preparing for her arrival. Chief Secretary Anu Garg led a state-level planning meeting today. Officials held this important meeting at the Lok Seva Bhawan conference hall. They discussed various ways to make the President's visit completely smooth and successful.

Development Commissioner Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh joined the talks. Additional Chief Secretary of Home, Industries, and Public Relations Hemant Sharma also took part. Additional Chief Secretary of Labour and Science Chitra Arumugam attended the event along with several other department secretaries.

The President's Schedule
Special Secretary of the Home Department R.K. Sharma shared the official travel schedule during the meeting.- Morning Departure: President Murmu will leave New Delhi in the morning on an Indian Air Force plane.
- Jharsuguda Arrival: She will land at the Jharsuguda airport at 10:25 AM.
- Rourkela Arrival: She will take a special helicopter and arrive at the Rourkela airport at 11:10 AM.
- Public Meeting: From the airport, she will travel by road to Sector 13 to attend a large public meeting.
- Return Journey: After finishing her local programs, she will return to Jharsuguda and fly back to New Delhi at 4:50 PM.
Key Inaugurations
The President will open several new public welfare projects during her visit.- She will inaugurate the new Integrated Command Control Centre building.
- She will open the Science Park and Planetarium.
- She will launch the Pramod Udyan park located in Koel Nagar.
- She will also visit the Tribal Museum and inspect the Command Control Centre.
Security and Public Arrangements
Sundargarh District Collector Dr. Shubhankar Mohapatra shared local updates with the committee. The administration instructed the district collectors to keep the circuit houses in Rourkela and Jharsuguda completely ready. Police forces will follow strict security rules. Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania joined the meeting online. The DIG of the Western Range and the SPs of Sundargarh and Jharsuguda also discussed their specific security plans. They will secure the airports, circuit houses, and event areas. The government appointed Arindam Dakua as the main nodal officer to coordinate all events.Many citizens will attend the public meeting. Therefore, the government is making special health and safety plans. Officials will provide enough drinking water and ORS packets for the crowd. They will set up first-aid camps and ensure a steady power supply. Workers will fix local roads and arrange good ventilation at the main venue. Because of the ongoing summer heatwave, the health department will deploy extra doctors and medical teams. Finally, the State Home Department will open a special control room to monitor the entire visit.
