Nayagarh, April 23: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The Nayagarh district administration organised a special district-level workshop today. They hosted the educational event at the "Srujan" conference hall inside the local Zilla Parishad office. Organisers named the program "Ame Janiba Ama Budget," which translates to "Let Us Know Our Budget." They created this event to teach local citizens about the government budget and explain how the financial planning process works.

Many important local leaders attended the workshop. The guests on the stage included District Planning Board Chairman and Khandapada MLA Dushmanta Swain. District Collector Madhumita Rath and Zilla Parishad President Debashish Patnaik also joined the event. Other key officials like Chief Development Officer Lagnajit Rout and Sub-Collector Karndeb Samadar participated in the session. Ashutosh Mishra, an economics professor from Nayagarh Autonomous College, delivered a special lecture. He explained the technical details of the budget to the audience.
The speakers highlighted many different sides of financial planning. They explained why ordinary people must participate in the budgeting process. The leaders asked the public to share their opinions and ideas when the government prepares the budget. The main goal of the workshop was to share basic financial knowledge with the grassroots level. The officials wanted to show how the government uses its income and plans its expenses to develop the community and help ordinary citizens.
Government workers, social activists, and local journalists attended the workshop. The speakers told them about new government plans and upcoming projects. They focused on three main areas: education, health, and local infrastructure. The administration wants to improve schools, hospitals, and roads using the new budget allocations.
During the meeting, Zilla Parishad President Debashish Patnaik shared a major concern. He noticed that several government departments did not spend their full budget during the last financial year. He expressed worry about these unused funds. He announced that the administration will soon hold another special meeting. In that future meeting, officials will discuss new ways to utilize the remaining grant money effectively.
Senior journalist Ramakrishna Rath also took part in the active discussion. He reminded everyone that Nayagarh is primarily an agricultural area. He suggested that the government should build a new cold storage facility in the district. He explained that this facility would greatly help local farmers protect their crops and boost the regional agricultural sector. Finally, he requested the administration to conduct all future budget discussions completely in the local Odia language. This change would help everyone understand the complex financial topics much better.
