The watchful locals quickly called the Chauliaganj Fire Department. Station Officer Bikash Chandra Patra took charge of the situation. He led a team of trained firefighters and rushed to the location. Upon arrival, the fire rescue team saw the serious danger. They immediately contacted the local electricity department to ensure everyone's safety.
Officials and workers from the electricity board arrived at the scene very quickly. They completely shut off the power supply from the main grid. This important step prevented any electrical accidents and made the area safe for the rescue team. Only after cutting the power did the actual rescue operation begin.
The rescue operation involved several steps and challenges:
Rescuers first tried to talk to the young man from the ground. They asked him to come down safely. However, the man ignored their requests. Meanwhile, a massive crowd of curious onlookers gathered around the tower. The situation became very tense. Seeing no other choice, two brave firefighters started climbing the tall structure. These officers were Sk Rahat and Pravas Parida. They reached the young man and tried to calm him down. They requested him to climb down with them. The young man completely refused to listen to the officers. The standoff lasted for about one and a half hours. The rescue team then changed their plan. Ground workers tied a large safety net at the bottom of the tower. Finally, the firefighters managed to secure the young man. They tied a safety belt around him. They worked very hard and slowly lowered him to the ground.
After the successful rescue, officials checked the man for identification. They found an Aadhaar card in his pocket. The card revealed his details are Naresh Mandi, Bokaro district, Jharkhand.
Authorities asked him several times why he climbed the dangerous power tower. The young man kept quiet and did not answer their questions. The local police took over the case and brought him to the station. Police officers are now trying to contact his family members in Jharkhand to inform them about the incident.
