Berhamapur, April 10, 2026: (Report- Ramakrushna Pani): Organisers officially launched the Chief Minister's Trophy Tournament today at the local Mahatma Gandhi Stadium. 
Brahmapur MLA K. Anil Kumar attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest. Several guests of honor also joined the event to support the athletes. These included Brahmapur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Akabaram Sasya Reddy, Sub-Collector Abinash Kumar, District Sports Officer Tapas Samal, and DDA Secretary J. Kameswar Rao.
The guests spoke to the players about the importance of daily physical activity. They explained that sports keep both the mind and body healthy. They also encouraged the young athletes to play well and bring pride to their district.
Right after the opening ceremony, organizers held exciting football and kabaddi matches. Teams from various blocks across the district joined the games with great energy.
The main goal of the Chief Minister's Trophy is to find and support hidden sports talents at the local level.
