Nayagarh, April 17, 2026: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party office in Nayagarh district hosted a special tribute meeting today. Party members and local leaders gathered to observe the death anniversary of the legendary leader, Biju Patnaik. The organizers held the event in a deeply respectful and serious atmosphere.
Mr. Gangadhar Panda, the BJD President for the local constituency, coordinated the entire program. Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Nayagarh, attended the event as the chief guest. During the meeting, all the guests stepped forward to honor the late leader. They placed beautiful flower garlands on a large portrait of Biju Patnaik. They paid their deep respects and shared their thoughts with the audience. The leaders gave speeches about his great love for the country. They praised his strong and visionary leadership. They also highlighted his massive contributions to the progress and development of the Odisha state.

After the tribute meeting ended, the leaders shifted their focus to social service. MLA Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo left the party office and traveled to the District Headquarters Hospital. He wanted to honor Biju Patnaik's memory through acts of kindness. At the hospital, Dr. Sahoo visited the different medical wards. He met with the admitted patients and handed out fresh fruits to them.
While at the hospital, Dr. Sahoo also arranged a meeting with the hospital administration. He met with Mrs. Pushpa Lakra, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO). The two officials held a serious discussion about the local healthcare system. They talked about new ways to provide better and faster medical services to the patients.
The memorial program ended on a very positive and inspiring note. Through these events, all the attendees took a firm pledge. They promised to follow the high ideals and values set by Biju Patnaik. They vowed to dedicate their lives to social service and work hard for the welfare of the common people.
