BHANJANAGAR: (Report- Jaya Krishna Patnaik): Police recovered a 50-year-old man from the Loharakhandi River on Friday morning. Authorities identified him as Krushnachandra Panigrahi. He lived on Red Cross Road in Bhanjanagar town.
Krushnachandra went to the river on Thursday night. He did not return home late into the night. His family worried about his safety. They searched the area for a long time but could not find him.
On Friday morning, local residents saw him in the water near Malsahi. They immediately informed the authorities. Firefighters and local police reached the area quickly. The rescue team brought him out of the river. Police then sent him to the Bhanjanagar hospital for standard medical procedures.
The river currently holds high water levels. Officials suspect he accidentally drowned in the deep water.
This tragic event follows another recent incident in the area. Just a few days ago, two youths drowned in the Bhanjanagar reservoir. Authorities urge people to stay safe near local water bodies.
