CUTTACK/Nischintakoili: (Reported by Devi Datta Shivaprasad Nayak): Unknown persons damaged an idol of Lord Shani in the Cuttack district. The incident occurred at the Swapneswar Mahadev Temple in Murdabad village, which falls under the Katarpada panchayat and Nischintakoili police station.

The local community was actively preparing for the Maha Jalabhishek Yatra. The temple planned to hold this grand event on Saturday, the 25th.
Following the incident, temple representatives filed a complaint at the local police station. Police officers visited the temple grounds to inspect the area. However, they have not yet identified the people responsible for the act. Local villagers now want the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and find the culprits.
The temple management has made a decision regarding the damaged idol. They will respectfully immerse the broken statue in water. Afterward, they will bring and install a new idol at the temple.
Fakir Charan Nayak, the chief supervisor of the temple, shared the future plans. He stated that the priests will perform the scheduled rituals, including the Jalabhishek and Yajna, as soon as they finish installing the new idol.
