Tikabali, April 24 (Report- Akulananda Digal): The Tikabali block in the Kandhamal district celebrated National Panchayati Raj Day on Friday. Block Chairman Dilip Kanhar led the event. Block Development Officer Vishnu Govind, Additional Block Development Officer Sunil Kumar Mallick, and the Block Panchayat Officer managed the stage. 
Many local leaders and workers attended the program. The guests included Sarpanches from 11 local Gram Panchayats and various executive officers. CRPs, MBKs, and women from Mission Shakti also joined the event. During the program, the administration broadcast the Chief Minister's speech live for the audience.
However, the block administration did not invite local media representatives to this official government program. Tikabali has an active, government-registered Press Association. Despite this, officials gave no information to the journalists.
This action upset the local reporters. They state that officials repeatedly ignore the media during government events in the block.
Ganesh Nayak, President of the Tikabali Press Association, and Secretary Santosh Dalabehera criticized the actions of the block administration. They said that excluding the press from official programs creates doubt about administrative transparency. The association asked the district administration to look into this matter immediately.
