Bhanjanagar, April 1, 2026: (Jaya Krishna Patnaik): The town of Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district celebrated the 91st Utkal Divas today with immense joy and patriotic fervor. The Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Department organised the main event at the Regulated Market Committee (RMC) conference hall.
Sub-Collector Umashankar Behera presided over the formal meeting. During the event, speakers highlighted the historical significance of the region. They specifically mentioned how the first movement for the Odia language started in 1870 at the Thakurani Padia in Bhanjanagar. This movement, supported by many local leaders, played a vital role in shaping the identity of the state.
