Atanu Sabyasachi Slams Police Bias: BJD Submits Memo to Kendrapara SP

Key Allegations Against the Administration

During a press conference held on Thursday at the BJD party office in Kiarbank, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak criticized both the BJP and the current government administration. His main points included:
  • Political Control: He alleged that local leaders of the ruling party are controlling the block-level officials and the police.
  • Targeting Officials: Nayak claimed that the husband of a local Sarpanch was framed in a false case. He stated this happened because the Sarpanch refused to support corrupt activities.
  • Harassment: He highlighted a specific incident where a man could not attend his father’s last rites because of police harassment.

Demands and Future Action

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) expressed deep dissatisfaction with the police's current conduct. Nayak urged the SP to ensure that the police force remains independent and stays away from the influence of local political workers.
The party has set a deadline of April 14 for the authorities to resolve these issues. If the administration fails to take action by then, the BJD warned it would decide on a future course of protest. Many party leaders and members from Mahakalapada and Marshaghai were present during the meeting with the SP to show their support.
