BERHAMPUR (April 4, 2026): (Report- Ramakrushna Pani): The Ganjam district administration has officially launched the Ganjam Lakshya Niketan Training Center to help local students prepare for civil service exams. The center opened today with a special classroom at the Berhampur Development Authority (BeDA) office.
Key Highlights of the Launch
Several high-ranking officials and leaders attended the inauguration. MLAs: K. Anil Kumar (Berhampur), Manoranjan, Dyan Samantara (Chikiti), and Siddhant Mohapatra (Digapahandi). Berhampur Mayor Sanghamitra Dalai, Ganjam, Collector V. Keerthi Vasan, IG (Southern Range) Niti Shekhar, and Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M. BeMC Commissioner J. Sonal and Sub-Collector Avinash Kumar.Empowering Civil Service Aspirants
This is the first time the district administration is providing free coaching for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) exams.- Selection Process: About 700 candidates appeared for an entrance test in January. Out of these, 170 students qualified for the program.
- First Batch: Today, 70 selected candidates from the Berhampur area started their classes.
- Expansion: The administration plans to open similar centers in Chhatrapur and Bhanjanagar soon.
- Inclusion: The program reserves 50% of its seats for female candidates to encourage women in administration.
Training and Facilities
The program offers a high-standard learning environment to help local youth succeed in competitive exams.- Expert Coaching: Faculty from the Sarathi IAS Coaching Center in Delhi will conduct classes via online and live streaming.
- Mentorship: Local IAS and OAS officers will visit the center in person to guide and mentor the students.
- Resources: The facility includes a dedicated library where students can access essential study materials.
