Nayagarh Civil Society Leads Massive Peace March: "We Want Peace, Not War"

A Community United for Peace

The march started at the NAC Government High School and ended at PWD Chhak. Led by Rotarian Godabarish Sahoo, the Chairman of the Civil Society, participants carried a simple but powerful slogan: "We want peace, not war."
Several prominent local figures joined the walk to show their support, including:
  • Nirupama Khatei, Chairperson of Nayagarh Municipality
  • Jyotiranjan Samantaray, Additional SP
  • Srikant Khatei, President of the Journalists’ Association
  • Ramakrishna Rath, Senior Journalist
  • Swadesh Mishra, Secretary of the Bar Association
  • Bhagabati Charan Pattnaik, Vice Chairman of the Civil Society
The organisers highlighted that war does not just affect soldiers; it hurts ordinary people everywhere by creating economic instability and fear. By coming together, the people of Nayagarh hope to remind global leaders that the common man chooses harmony over destruction.
The event saw a large turnout of local residents and members of the Civil Society, all standing together for a safer, more peaceful world.
