DASPALLA: (Report- Subash Chandra Barik): Following government guidelines, the Daspalla Notified Area Council (NAC) observed International Women’s Day through a week-long celebration. The events, which began on March 8, concluded with a meaningful workshop and health camp on Friday, March 13.

Empowering Women through Knowledge

The NAC hosted an educational workshop within its premises to mark the occasion. E. Poonam Priyadarshini, Chairperson of the Council, presided over the meeting. Several local leaders and officials attended the event, including Kishore Chandra Dash (Vice-Chairman), Abinash Mohanty (Executive Officer), Sukadeb Mishra (Councilor), Binapani Pani (Councilor) and Sanoja Kumar Sahu (Councilor)

Focus on Health and Progress

During the session, the speakers highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment in today’s society. They also took the opportunity to discuss specific issues within their respective wards to find better solutions for the community.
Alongside the discussions, the council organised a health camp to provide medical check-ups and wellness advice to the attendees.
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of women from various Self-Help Groups (SHGs). These women were recognised for their hard work and dedication to sanitation projects and plant management within the town.
The program saw a large turnout, including councilors, government staff, women's group members, and local intellectuals, all coming together to celebrate the spirit of womanhood.
