Nayagarh: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): Police in Sarankul have stepped up their fight against illegal mining. During a recent operation, a team from the Sarankul Police Station intercepted a truck illegally transporting laterite stones.
Officers seized the vehicle and the stones on the spot. One person has been arrested in connection with the transport. The police have officially registered a criminal case and are now conducting a deeper investigation to find others involved in the trade.
This move is part of a larger effort to protect local resources. Authorities confirmed that they will continue to track and stop the illegal movement of minor minerals in the region.
"Our enforcement against illegal miners will remain strict and continuous," the department stated.
