NAYAGARH: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The Pujyapuja Committee of Nayagarh celebrated the birth anniversary of the legendary Odia writer, Fakir Mohan Senapati, today. The event took place at the Neelamadhab Kalyan Mandap and brought together literature lovers and local leaders to honor his lasting legacy.

Highlights of the Event

The meeting was chaired by Godabari Sahoo, the advisor of the Pujyapuja Committee. Several prominent figures attended the program, including:
  • Senior journalist Ramakrishna Rath
  • Rotarian Dhirendra Patnaik
  • Local leaders Abinash Sahoo, Basanta Raut, and Kailash Pradhan
  • Community members Santosh Sharma, Gopabandhu Lenka, and Jitendra Kumar Sethi
The guests began the ceremony by offering floral tributes to the portrait of the late author.

Celebrating a Literary Legend

The speakers praised Fakir Mohan Senapati for his massive contribution to Odia literature. They focused specifically on "Rebati," which is recognized as the first short story in the Odia language.
The members discussed how "Rebati" remains a household name and continues to influence Odia culture even today. The atmosphere was filled with respect as the crowd chanted slogans to keep the memory of the "Vyasakabi" (Great Poet) alive.

The event concluded with a call to the younger generation to read and preserve the classic works of Senapati to keep the language and heritage thriving.
