Daspalla: (Report- Subash Chandra Barik): The Ghugudipada Gram Panchayat successfully hosted a significant religious festival, the Nam Yagnya, in Kachapali village. The event, held in the premises of the Kachapali Laxminarayan Temple, saw huge participation from the local community. A twelve-member committee from Kachapali organised the entire program, ensuring its smooth execution.
The festivities officially began on November 26, 2025, with the Adhibhasa Kalasa Yatra (a ceremonial procession). This auspicious start set a spiritual tone for the following day's main events.
On November 27, 2025, the community started the central ceremonies. These included the Nam Yagnya (chanting of the Lord's names), the Ghruta Yagnya (ghee offering ceremony), and the Anna Yagnya (mass community feast). The day was filled with devotional activities and offerings.
The entire program reached its culmination in the evening at 5:00 PM with the Purnahuti ceremony. This final offering marked the successful conclusion of the sacred rituals.
The organisation and success of the festival relied entirely on the cooperation and support of all the residents of the Ghugudipada Panchayat. This community effort was central to the festival’s realization.
A dedicated team provided complete leadership for the arrangements and execution of the festival. These key individuals included Bijay Ketan Satpathy, Pramod Pradhan, Kapilendra Sahoo, Narasingha Behera, Jugal Behera, Baikuntha Pradhan, and Krushna Pradhan. Their hard work and guidance were instrumental in managing the large-scale event.
The festival also attracted several respected dignitaries and community leaders. Mr. Kishore Chandra Dalbehera, representing Kandhamal Member of Parliament Mr. Sukanta Panigrahi for the Daspalla Block, attended the event. Other notable participants included Brundaban Pradhan and Aniruddha Sahoo.
The attendees performed the devotional practice of Naamamruta Bibhu Krupa, seeking the divine grace obtained through chanting the Lord’s name. The spiritual atmosphere was deeply felt by everyone present.
A major highlight of the festival was the vibrant Nama Sankirtan (devotional chanting) program. Fourteen different teams performed the chanting. Their rhythmic melodies, accompanied by various beats and the resonant sound of the mridanga (a traditional drum), created an emotional and spiritual experience for the entire audience. The powerful and varied musical performance captivated the public, leaving them immersed in devotional fervor.
The event successfully brought the community together for a shared spiritual and cultural experience. The large-scale participation and the enthusiastic performance of the Sankirtan teams ensured the Nam Yagnya was a memorable event for everyone in Kachapali and the surrounding areas of Ghugudipada Panchayat. The organisers thanked all participants for their contribution to the festival's success.
