Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu, the first citizen of India and a daughter of Odisha, made a historic visit and addressed the Odisha Legislative Assembly today, creating a golden chapter in the state's democratic history. This is the first time in the Assembly's 75-year history that a sitting President has guided the legislative body. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi called this event a moment of immense pride and honor for all people of Odisha. 
President Murmu began her active political journey right from this Assembly. Her return to her first political workplace demonstrates her unbreakable affection for her birthplace and karma-bhoomi (land of work), while also reaffirming the values of Utkaliya tradition (Odisha's tradition).
