It will help inspire young minds and encourage a scientific way of thinking.”
Location and Additional Plans
The Science City will be built in the Chandaka area of Bhubaneswar. Along with the main facility, the project will also include a biotechnology park, offering opportunities for researchers and industries to collaborate on new innovations. This park is expected to attract startups, scientists, and businesses working in cutting-edge fields like biotechnology and artificial intelligence.Expanding Science Education Across Odisha
In addition to the Science City, the state government plans to establish science centers in every district. Minister Patra emphasized that a strong foundation in science and technology is essential for the progress of any nation.“Odisha is committed to building a robust scientific ecosystem,” he said. “By setting up these centers, we aim to bring science education closer to students in rural and urban areas alike.”
A Vision for the Future
The Science City project reflects Odisha’s growing focus on research and technological development. With interactive exhibits, regular science fairs, and research facilities, the initiative aims to spark curiosity and creativity among young learners. Officials believe that such investments in science infrastructure will not only improve education but also drive economic growth by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. As plans move forward, the state government is expected to collaborate with national and international science organizations to ensure the Science City meets global standards.
