Kalasa Yatra and Sacred Rituals

The consecration ceremony began with a grand Kalasa Yatra (holy pot procession) on Thursday, where hundreds of devotees, including men and women, carried the sacred kalasa from the Nefari Ghat of the Bṛutaṅga River. The procession, filled with chants and devotional songs, set the spiritual tone for the event.
On Friday, elaborate homams (fire rituals) and yajnas were performed, filling the atmosphere with sacred vibrations. Priests and saints who had arrived from Ayodhya and Rata Pata conducted the Prana Pratishtha (life-infusing ceremony) of Lord Ram’s idol. Following the rituals, the deity was ceremoniously installed on the throne (Singhasan), marking the divine presence of Lord Ram in the temple.

Temple Location and Significance

The newly constructed temple is situated at Banigochha Kamutipanga near National Highway 57. Adjacent to the temple, a shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman already exists, where devotees have been offering prayers for years.

Community Participation and Prasad Distribution

Thousands of devotees attended the event and received anna prasad (sacred food offerings). The rituals included Ghruta Yajna (ghee offering), Nama Yajna (chanting of holy names), and other Vedic ceremonies.

Key Organisers and Gratitude

The temple committee, led by President Ramesh Sahoo, Secretary Pankaj Sahoo, and Treasurer Rashmiranjan Sahoo, worked tirelessly for the successful completion of the project. Other notable contributors included Ganesh Prusti, Surath Barik, Sanjit Karan, Basant Majhi, and local devotees.
Expressing their gratitude, the organisers stated that they felt blessed to have facilitated the construction of the temple, allowing devotees to seek the divine blessings of Lord Ram. Local residents from Daspalla shared that the event was a historic moment for the region, filling hearts with spiritual joy.
The inauguration of the temple has not only strengthened the faith of devotees but also added a new spiritual landmark in Odisha.
