BHUBANESWAR, (Report- Swetapadma Mohanty): Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has called for stronger collaboration between the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur and educational institutions across the state. He urged stakeholders to work together to promote defense research, innovation, and skill development among young students. 
The Governor chaired a high-level coordination meeting on Friday at the New Abhishek Hall in Lok Bhawan. During the session, he reviewed several proposals submitted by the Army Air Defence College. He advised state officials and educational administrators to create formal pathways for cooperation with the premier military training institute.
He described the Army Air Defence College as a leading national defense training center that drives important research and innovation. He noted that institutional support from the state will further strengthen national defense capabilities.
Officials reviewed proposals to develop a green campus at the military station. Key initiatives include operating electric buses within the station premises and introducing light electric ambulances for faster patient transport.
Top state officials attended the meeting, including Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretaries Hemant Kumar Sharma and Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner for the Southern Division, the Ganjam District Collector, and representatives from public and private sector organizations.

The Governor directed authorities to arrange regular study visits for engineering students to the modern laboratories at the Army Air Defence College. He explained that direct exposure to advanced defense technologies and ongoing research projects will help students gain practical knowledge. These visits will allow young engineers to understand real-world defense requirements and explore future career opportunities in national security and technology development.He described the Army Air Defence College as a leading national defense training center that drives important research and innovation. Focus on Civil-Military Cooperation and Green Infrastructure
The meeting addressed ways to improve civil-military cooperation through continuous coordination among the Army Air Defence College, the Ganjam district administration, and the Odisha state government.Officials reviewed proposals to develop a green campus at the military station. Healthcare, Welfare, and Civic Proposals
Participants also discussed several key administrative and welfare proposals during the meeting:- Healthcare Support: Authorities discussed signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. The agreement aims to provide priority medical services to armed forces personnel.
- Welfare Measures: The administration reviewed pending land compensation matters for the families of deceased service members.
- Parade Participation: Officials examined a proposal for an Army equipment contingent to participate in the state’s official Independence Day and Republic Day parades in Bhubaneswar.
- Community Rehabilitation: The meeting addressed programs for the education and rehabilitation of children with special needs in Ganjam district.
- Infrastructure Issues: Authorities discussed engineering solutions to prevent drainage water from nearby rural areas from entering the Gopalpur Military Station.
