NAYAGARH, August 14 (Report - Ramakrishna Rath): The Nayagarh district administration organised a district-level Partition Horrors Remembrance Day event today. Officials held the gathering at the Pathani Samanta Sanskruti Bhavan. The programme began at 10:30 in the morning. The administration linked this event to the national 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign. The district event aimed to educate the public about historical events. Many people attended the morning session to watch the scheduled programs and learn about history. 
Several district officials attended the gathering. District Collector Madhumita Rath led the event. Additional District Magistrate Rojina Das also participated in the program. Other key officials included District Information and Public Relations Officer Sujata Kumari Sahu and District Culture Officer Sumitra Bhuyan. Nayagarh Municipality Executive Officer Snehalata Acharya joined the officials on the stage. Besides the government officials, many media representatives covered the event. A large number of students from different schools and colleges participated. Members of local Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the general public also came to the venue. In total, more than 400 people formed the audience.
The programme started with a formal lamp-lighting ceremony. The officials lit the lamp to open the session. After the lamp lighting, the audience stood up for a moment of silence. Everyone observed two minutes of silence. The audience did this to respect the people who lost their lives during the partition of the country. The silence also recognized the displaced families from that historical period. Following this, students from the John Milton Special School took the stage. The students sang the national song, "Vande Mataram." Next, they sang the national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana."
After the musical performances, the organisers used a large LED screen to show digital content. First, they played a documentary film titled "The New Post Box." The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, provided this documentary. The film explained the historical events of the partition and focused on the theme of national unity. Next, the organizers broadcast a recorded play called "Vibhajan Ek Vibhishika." The National School of Drama (NSD) prepared this play. The drama presented facts about the historical division of the country.
The District Information and Public Relations Office in Nayagarh coordinated the entire programme. The administration managed the large crowd successfully. The organisers ensured the event ran exactly according to the schedule. The visual media helped the students and citizens understand the past clearly. The programme concluded peacefully after the screenings.
