POLASARA, JULY 30 (Report- Jayakrishna Patnaik): A migrant worker from Ganjam district died in a workplace accident in Surat. The worker, identified as Muna Gouda, lived in Jakar village within the Polasara block.
Gouda worked as a laborer for a private company in Surat. Reports state that he fell from a height during his work shift. He sustained severe injuries from the fall. He received medical treatment at a local hospital but died shortly after. Authorities informed his family about his death.
Gouda earned the only income for his household. His elderly parents and two sisters relied entirely on his wages to manage their daily expenses.
Following the incident, former Polasara MLA and minister Srikant Sahu visited Gouda's family. He demanded financial compensation and official government assistance for the deceased worker's relatives.
