KENDRAPADA, July 30 (Saroj Pani): Floodwaters entered most blocks in the Kendrapara district today. Water levels rose in the Brahmani, Baitarani, and Budhabalanga rivers early this morning.
The river water flowed into several areas. These areas include Pattamundai, Rajnagar, Garadpur, Aul, and Rajkanika. The floods stranded many residents in their homes.
The water blocked roads and stopped transportation completely. Villagers face major difficulties traveling outside their communities.
In the Bachhara panchayat of the Pattamundai block, water covered multiple villages. Chest-deep water blocks the main road in this area. This prevents residents from reaching hospitals and markets for essential work.
Locals state that government help has not arrived yet. Meanwhile, farmers moved their cattle to higher ground to keep them safe.
