Nayagada: (Report- Ramakrishna Rath): The district administration of Nayagada launched a new campaign to help local farmers. The administration started the 'Crop Insurance Awareness Vehicle' program to spread important information. The Nayagada District Collector attended the launch event as the chief guest. The District Collector waved a green flag to officially start the vehicle's journey. This launch event took place at the Nayagarh District Collector's office campus. 
The new initiative aims to educate farmers about the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The government designed this national scheme to protect farmers from unexpected losses. The awareness vehicle will travel across the Nayagada district for four days. The campaign started on July 21 and will end on July 24. During this time, the vehicle will visit many areas under the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS).
The vehicle carries clear messages about the benefits of crop insurance. It informs farmers how insurance protects their money. Farmers often face major financial problems during natural disasters. Bad weather or pests can easily destroy their crops. The insurance scheme provides financial security when these crop losses happen. The district administration wants every farmer to know about these benefits.
The administration also announced an important deadline. Farmers must register for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana by July 31 this year. July 31 is the final date for the current crop season. The government advised all farmers to finish their registration before the deadline. Farmers can easily enroll in this insurance scheme. They need to visit their nearest Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society office. They can also visit their local Common Service Centre. The staff at these centers will help them complete the insurance process.
Many government officials attended the flag-off ceremony. The Additional District Magistrate of Nayagada joined the event. The Chief District Agriculture Officer also participated in the program. Other key officials included the Deputy Registrar and the Assistant Registrar of the Nayagada division. Employees from the Regulated Market Committee and various PACS staff members also attended the launch. The district administration hopes this campaign will encourage more farmers to secure their crops this year.
