JATANI, KHORDHA, (Report- Lipikarani Raut): The villagers of Gaurada Kashipur in Jatani recently celebrated a highly significant spiritual event. They successfully completed the idol installation ceremony of Goddess Maa Bayani. The temple consecration was a grand three-day religious program. Villagers came together with great joy and deep devotion to establish this new temple. Their strong unity, teamwork, and active financial cooperation made this beautiful event possible.
The three-day festival started with a holy Kalash Yatra. Many local women took part in this colorful water pot procession. They carried sacred water pots on their heads and walked together while chanting religious prayers. Throughout the three days, expert priests guided the community through several important Hindu rituals. They performed Surya Puja to worship the Sun God. They also organized Go Puja to honor the sacred cows. Following this, the priests did the Agni Sthapana to light the holy fire.
The main part of the event was the Prana Pratistha. This specific ritual gives spiritual life to the new idol of the Goddess and purifies the entire temple structure. Umakanti Mohapatra and Nirupama Mohapatra sat as the chief hosts, or Karta and Kartari, during these major worship activities. The priests chanted powerful mantras to complete the idol installation properly. Finally, the priests performed the grand Aarti and offered the Purna Ahuti to the holy fire to conclude the main ceremonies. The village Sarpanch also attended the function to support the locals and seek blessings.
The weather on the final day was completely rainy. However, the heavy rain did not stop the devotion of the people. A massive crowd of local villagers gathered at the temple premises. They stood patiently to watch the final rituals. After all the prayers ended, the organizers distributed Prasad, or holy food, to all the devotees. Everyone ate the blessed food together in a peaceful environment.
The local people have deep faith in Goddess Maa Bayani. According to the villagers, the Goddess appeared in a dream before they decided to build the temple. They also claim to have experienced divine miracles related to her presence in the village. Devotees firmly believe that the Goddess answers their prayers, removes their personal troubles, and fulfills their deep wishes. Due to this strong wave of faith, the existing temple of the Goddess at Jala in Jatani also witnessed a large crowd of worshippers on the same day. The entire region filled with positive spiritual energy during these three days.
