BODEN,July 4, (Report- Malay Meher): The Biju Expressway is famous for connecting people quickly and safely. However, a specific section of this road now tells a very different story. Near Tangaripada village, which falls under the Karalakot panchayat of the Boden block in the Nuapada district, the expressway has become a danger zone for travelers. Huge potholes cover the road. These damaged sections create a serious risk for everyone who drives through the area.
Biju Expressway Danger: Giant Potholes Threaten Commuters in Nuapada

People expect the Biju Expressway to offer a smooth and secure journey. Instead, daily commuters face a rough and risky ride. Large holes have developed across various parts of the highway. Drivers must navigate these traps carefully every single day. The bad road conditions force vehicles to slow down suddenly or swerve to the side. This sudden movement often leads to dangerous situations on a busy road.
The recent arrival of the rainy season has made this bad situation even worse. Rainwater quickly fills the large potholes on the road. Because the muddy water hides the bottom, drivers cannot see how deep the holes actually are. Two-wheeler riders face the highest risk. They often drive straight into the deep, hidden holes and lose their balance. Drivers of small cars and large trucks also face similar dangers. Every time a person crosses this stretch, they carry the fear of a sudden accident in their minds.
According to local residents, many small and medium accidents have already happened on this exact spot. Vehicles break down, and people suffer injuries. Despite these frequent incidents, the local administration has not taken any visible action. Hundreds of vehicles use this main road every single day. The broken road slows down travel and disrupts daily life. The lack of attention from the authorities has caused deep anger among the local people.
The residents of the Karalakot panchayat area have raised this issue many times. They have approached the concerned departments and demanded immediate road repairs. Sadly, the officials only give them empty promises. No real repair work has started on the ground, and the people feel completely ignored.
Now, the local citizens are making a strong demand to the Nuapada district administration. They want the highway officials to visit the site, check the road conditions, and start permanent repair work immediately. The public sends a clear message to the government: officials must act now to prevent a major tragedy. The authorities must fix the road before a large accident happens, rather than waiting to react after a tragic event occurs.
