Nayagarh, (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): Nayagarh District Administration started a new campaign today to stop child labor. Leaders want to remove this practice from society completely. They also want to teach the public about children's rights. To achieve this goal, the administration launched a special vehicle called the "awareness chariot."
At 8:00 AM today, Sub-Collector Karndeb Samadar officially started the campaign. He waved a green flag at the District Collector's office to send the chariot on its way. This morning event marked the beginning of a major district-wide effort to protect young people.
Divisional Labor Commissioner Tej Kumar Bage managed and supervised the entire program. Under his careful guidance, the awareness chariot traveled through Nayagarh town. After finishing the main town route, the vehicle visited many different rural blocks across the district.
Workers on the chariot used loud speakers to share an important message. They told business owners, factory managers, and citizens to stop hiring young children. The speakers clearly stated that people must never employ children under 14 years old. They warned everyone to keep children out of dangerous jobs, local shops, and busy markets.
The district administration strongly highlighted the need to protect young people. Officials want to make sure every child goes to school. They believe proper education keeps children safe and helps them build better futures. The campaign asks the whole community to support children's education instead of sending them to work. Ordinary citizens watched the chariot pass through their neighborhoods, and many people stopped to listen to the public announcements.
Many important officials attended the rally to show their support. District Child Protection Unit officers and Additional Labor Officers worked hard to make the event a success. Gyanaranjan Sahu, Pujajarin Samal, Jayashree Dalei, Loyesa Singh, Ashutosh Kumar Samal, Niroj Kumar Badajena, and Ramakant Mishra took active roles in the program.
Local trade unions also joined the fight against child labor. Sunyajayi Mishra, the Chairman of the Nayagarh District Trade Union Coordination Committee, attended the event. General Secretary Basudev Mohanty and several senior labor leaders, including Srikant Patnaik, Pramod Maharana, Raghunath Maharana, and Basant Kumar Sahu, stood with the government. More than 20 trade union officials marched in the rally. Together, these groups sent a strong and united message to protect the children of Nayagarh.
