Jagatsinghpur: (Reported by Devi Datta Sivaprasad Nayak): A recent public hearing program in the Raghunathpur block of Jagatsinghpur district faced major disruptions. Officials did not allow common people to enter the office to share their problems.
According to local reports, the Vice Chairman actively prevented the Block Development Officer (BDO) from listening to public complaints. Local residents claim that the BDO currently acts without real authority. They stated that the Vice Chairman controls all major decisions and block operations.
Many citizens waited on the block office verandah for several hours. Despite their long wait, officials denied them entry. The Chairman and Vice Chairman reportedly restricted access to the BDO, which stopped the public from presenting their grievances.
