BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government is working hard to make the state the next major center for industrial growth in India. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took a big step toward this goal recently. He traveled to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to host the "Odisha Investors Summit Roadshow." During this event, he invited top business leaders from across the country to invest in Odisha.
The Chief Minister spoke clearly about his bold goals for the state. He told the crowd that Gujarat has brought great wealth to Western India over the years. Now, he stated that Odisha is completely ready to bring similar wealth to Eastern India.
He explained that Odisha will play a main role in the central government's "Purvodaya" plan. This plan aims to develop the eastern part of the country. The Chief Minister noted that India will achieve a more balanced economy only when Eastern India develops alongside Western India. Today, rapid growth and smart planning make Odisha a highly competitive and easy place for investors to do business.
He then connected this shared history to modern business opportunities. He noted that Gujarat currently leads the country in the textile industry. He added that Odisha is now growing quickly in this exact same sector. Odisha offers a new business-friendly environment and a large group of highly skilled workers. Furthermore, the state has a long coastline and excellent seaports. These ports give businesses a direct and powerful way to trade with global markets.

State Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Industries Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma joined the talks. Minister Swain told the investors that Odisha is building a future-ready industrial hub.
