Bhanjanagar, 22/05 (Report- Jayakrishna Patnaik): Late Thursday night, a sudden event disturbed the peace in Bhanjanagar town, located in the Ganjam district. Unknown individuals threw an explosive device at the residence of Gopabandhu Mahapatra. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Bhanjanagar Municipality. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any physical injuries to anyone. The exact reason behind this targeted action remains unknown at this time. 
The event took place at exactly 11:41 PM. According to early information, two unidentified men arrived near the local Dinabandhu Behera Girls High School. They traveled together on a motorcycle. The passenger sitting on the back of the bike wore a helmet to hide his identity. This individual threw the device at the Chairman's house from a distance of about 40 meters. After completing the act, both men quickly escaped from the area into the dark streets.
At the time of the incident, Chairman Gopabandhu Mahapatra was not present at his home. However, his family members were resting inside the house. They heard a loud noise outside and felt very frightened. This unexpected event has surprised the entire local community.
