Nayagarh: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): Three bright students from the Nayagarh district achieved a great milestone recently. They won the prestigious state-level Rajiv Gandhi Pratibha Samman. The Rajiv Gandhi Student Forum and the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle jointly organised a grand event to honor them. They held this special program at the Jayadev Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
The organisers hosted this event to mark the 35th memorial day of the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. Many distinguished guests attended the ceremony. They came to encourage the youth and celebrate their achievements. Justice D. P. Choudhury graced the occasion as the chief guest. Satyabrata Nayak, the president of the Rajiv Gandhi Student Forum, also joined the event to show his support.
Other notable figures attended the gathering as well. Arabinda Das, the media chairman of the Congress party, joined the ceremony. Dr. Kumarbar Das, the former Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University, also participated. Suresh Chandra Routray attended the event too. People affectionately know this popular former minister from Jatani as Sura Bhai. He came to inspire the young students.
During the ceremony, the Rajiv Gandhi Student Forum recognised the hard work of young volunteers. They selected students who did exceptional work in community service. These students actively participated in the National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross, and Scouts. The forum awarded the state-level prize to 35 talented NSS volunteers from across the entire state.
Out of these 35 winners, three students made the Nayagarh district very proud. Ashutosh Sahu represented the Nayagarh Autonomous College. Mithun Sahoo represented the Sarankul College. Bapunu Behera represented the Anchalik Degree College in Adakata. These three young men brought great honor and glory to their home district. They showed great leadership skills. They also showed a strong commitment to helping others.
The celebrations continued after the main event. Ashutosh Sahoo returned to his college. His teachers gave him a warm welcome. The Principal of the Nayagarh Autonomous College organized a special program. He honored Ashutosh once again in front of everyone. This local recognition motivated other students to join social work.
Additionally, NSS Program Officer Jagannath Maharana praised Ashutosh for his hard work. Professor Ashok Kumar Sahoo and many other friends also offered their best wishes.
