CUTTACK: (Report- Devi Datta Shivaprasad Nayak): The local administration has launched a new digital donation system at the famous Maa Cuttack Chandi Temple. Devotees can now make their offerings online using a new "e-Hundi" setup.

The temple management placed QR codes at the main entrance and several other locations inside the premises. Visitors can scan these codes with their smartphones to donate money instantly. To manage these funds securely, the administration opened a dedicated bank account specifically for the e-Hundi.
Additional District Magistrate Kamaljit Das shared several key benefits of this initiative:
  • Clear Records: The digital system keeps all financial transactions completely transparent.
  • Easy Audits: Officials will review and audit the dedicated bank account every three months.
  • No Cash Hassles: The online method removes the daily struggle of counting physical money and depositing it at the bank.
  • Visitor Convenience: Devotees can safely donate larger amounts of money without the risk of carrying cash.
Despite these new digital upgrades, some visitors remain unhappy. Many devotees feel frustrated because the administration has not yet finished the ongoing construction and renovation work at the temple.
