TIKABALI, APRIL 25: (Report- Akulananda Digal): Passengers in the Kandhamal district face daily travel issues due to a permanent change in a local bus route. A government bus previously traveled every day from Phulbani to Puri. It regularly passed through Tikabali, Kalinga, Bhanjanagar, and Nayagarh.
Phulbani-Puri Bus Route Issue: Passengers Demand Old Path

Heavy rains recently damaged the Kalinga Ghati road. Because of this damage, many transport operators stopped their services or changed their travel paths. The government also changed the route for the Phulbani-Puri passenger bus. The bus started taking a new path through Charichhak, Daspalla, Nayagarh, Khordha, and Bhubaneswar.
Workers have now completely repaired the Kalinga Ghati road. Vehicles travel normally on this route again. Most bus operators quickly returned their buses to the original path through Kalinga Ghati.
However, the government did not restore the old route for the Phulbani-Puri bus. The bus continues to bypass Tikabali, Kalinga, and Bhanjanagar.
This decision creates major problems for regular travelers. Many residents from the Tikabali area completely rely on this direct bus to reach Puri. Devotees specifically use this bus to visit the Jagannath Temple. They currently miss this direct and easy travel option.
Local residents now want the government to solve this issue. They request transport officials to bring back the original bus route through Tikabali and Kalinga so people can travel to Puri without difficulty.
