BHANJANAGAR, April 6: (Report- Jaya Krishna Patnaik): A massive tamarind tree is leaning dangerously over a school building in Ganjam district, sparking fear among students and parents. The tree stands right against the wall of the Sana Kodanda Project Upper Primary School in Bhanjanagar block.
For the past seven months, the tree has been a major safety hazard. Residents say it has already damaged the school’s boundary wall, causing deep cracks. Now, the heavy trunk is leaning directly onto the main school building, creating visible cracks in the structure.
In response to the growing concerns, Himanshu Sekhar Mohanty, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of North Ghumusar, addressed the issue today. He stated that he has instructed the relevant officers to remove the tree immediately to ensure the safety of the children.
