SINAPALI, April 18, (Report- Malay Meher): Kapasi village in the Sinapali block of Nuapada district is celebrating a grand spiritual event. The village is hosting the "16 Prahari Namayagya," a continuous devotional chanting festival. This two-day event has turned the area into a hub of devotion. Many devotees from far-away places have joined the gathering. The festival will end with a final offering on Sunday at 8:00 AM. Right now, a huge crowd of devotees is present in the village.
The sounds of the "Hare Krishna, Hare Rama" chant fill every corner of the area. People are singing, praying, and chanting together. They find great joy in these peaceful activities. The holy fire rituals and prayers have created a beautiful environment. This event clearly shows the strong unity and teamwork of the local people.
This festival is more than just a regular program. It is a symbol of a long and pure tradition. The villagers have kept this festival alive for 66 continuous years. A few dedicated people started this event back in 1960. They formed the first chanting group. In those early days, they had no modern facilities or extra money. They only had strong faith and dedication.
Times have changed over the decades, but Kapasi village keeps the true spirit of the festival alive. In the past, villagers invited a chanting group by simply offering a single coconut. Today, some places treat such events like a business. However, Kapasi village still focuses on pure simplicity and selfless devotion.
This year, seven different chanting groups are taking part in the festival. All the villagers worked hard together to make the event a big success. President Nakul Sa, secretary Biharilal Masara, Cashier Bishnu Sa and main ritual hosts Surath Sa and his wife guided the work.
Additionally, Parmeshwar Mahanand successfully managed the crowd and kept the area peaceful.
The villagers shared a meaningful message about the event. They said, "This festival does more than religious work. It cleanses the heart and brings people together." This rich tradition in Kapasi village continues to inspire the entire Nuapada district.
