MAHANGA: (Report- Sishukrishna Nanda): The Adamba ground in Cuttack district recently buzzed with excitement as local officials and professionals swapped their uniforms for cricket jerseys. A friendly cricket tournament was held featuring teams from the Mahanga Tehsil Administration, the Police, the Lawyers' Association, and the Journalists' Association (Press Club).

The Road to the Final

The competition began with two high-energy semifinals:
  • Police vs. Tehsil: The Police Administration defeated the Tehsil team to secure their spot in the final.
  • Journalists vs. Lawyers: The Journalists' Association (Press Club) beat the Lawyers' Association to advance.

A Thrilling Final Face-off

The final match saw a showdown between the Mahanga Police and the Journalists' Association.
The Police team won the toss and chose to bat first. In a 10-over game, they put up a competitive score of 107 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
The Journalists rose to the challenge. They chased down the target with determination, scoring 109 runs while losing only 5 wickets. Their steady performance earned them a hard-fought victory.

The Award Ceremony

At the end of the day, the Chief Guest presented the winner's trophy to the Journalists' Association. The Mahanga Police team received the runner-up trophy. The event served as a wonderful way to build friendship and team spirit among the different departments of the region.
