DASAPALLA: The vibrant festival of Holi is more than just colors; it is a celebration of brotherhood, love, and a deep connection with nature. Keeping this spirit alive, the residents of the Dasapalla-Gania region recently organized a unique religious event to mark the auspicious occasion of Gobardhan Purnima.
Community Celebrates Sacred Soil Bath Ritual in Dasapalla

A Sacred Tradition at Gobardhanpur

The highlights of the celebration took place at the Gaushala (cow shelter) in Gobardhanpur village, under the Srirampur Panchayat. Devotees gathered in large numbers to participate in the ‘Murtika Snan’ (sacred soil bath), a ritual performed with immense devotion and enthusiasm.
The event saw active participation from local volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) alongside hundreds of devotees from the surrounding areas. Together, they performed the traditional rituals, ensuring the ceremony followed long-standing customs.

Celebrating Unity and Culture

Following the soil bath, the organizers arranged a community feast (Prasad Seban) for all attendees. Families and neighbors sat together to share a meal, strengthening the bonds of the local community.
"This event teaches us to stay grounded and connected to our roots," shared one of the participants.

Growing Popularity

This year marks the fourth consecutive year of the Murtika Snan celebration in this region. What started as a small local gathering has grown significantly in scale and importance, attracting more followers every year.
The entire program was conducted peacefully and with great discipline. Looking ahead, the organizers have encouraged even more people to join these collective cultural events to help preserve and celebrate India’s rich traditional heritage.
