Bhubaneswar: Residents from across Odisha gathered in the capital city today to express their gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Over a thousand people from Jharsuguda, Balangir, and Pipili arrived at the State Guest House to celebrate the new 2026-27 state budget, which they describe as a "people-centric" roadmap for the state's future.
The atmosphere was festive as citizens thanked the Chief Minister for including specific development projects for their home regions. From the coastal belt to the western districts, the budget appears to have struck a chord with the public.
"Jharsuguda is the youngest district in the state, and this university fulfills a dream we have held for over three decades," Minister Pujari stated. The budget also includes plans to modernize the District Headquarter Hospital, ensuring better healthcare for the local population.
Dr. Mahaling noted that this builds on previous successes, as the 2025-26 budget had already provided the district with nursing and dental colleges. "Under the Chief Minister's leadership, development in Balangir is moving faster than ever before," he said.
