Nayagarh Inspires Youth with "Art of Volunteerism" Seminar

NAYAGARH: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath):
A special seminar titled "The Art of Volunteerism" was recently organised at the Sri Ramakrishna Adarsha Shikshya Kendra. The event focused on developing a spirit of service among volunteers and expanding the definition of social work in modern society.
The meeting was chaired by Sridhar Sahoo, the Secretary of the school. Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, the MLA of Nayagarh, attended as the chief speaker. He discussed the essential qualities a volunteer must possess and explained how selfless service helps build a stronger community.

The speakers emphasized that social workers should act as messengers of awareness to inspire others. They highlighted the importance of active participation in creating a better society.

Honoring Local Heroes

A significant part of the event was dedicated to the Debadutta Seva Parishad, a local volunteer group. About 50 members of this organization attended the seminar.
The group is well-known for its selfless actions, such as:
  • Performing the last rites for the poor and helpless when others hesitate.
  • Rescuing and providing medical care to injured cattle on the roads.
  • Acting as "messengers of God" for those in distress.
To recognise their noble work, the school presented certificates of appreciation to the members of the Parishad.

A Path Forward

The volunteers expressed that the seminar provided them with new direction and motivation. They pledged to speed up their service activities in the coming days. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by senior journalist Ramakrishna Rath.
