For years, voters and officials had to navigate dozens of different websites and apps to access election data. ECINet changes that by acting as a single, unified portal. It integrates 40 previously separate services into one interface. This includes popular tools like:
  • Voter Helpline App (VHA): For registration and polling booth details.
  • cVIGIL: For reporting electoral malpractices.
  • Know Your Candidate (KYC): To view the backgrounds of those running for office.
  • Saksham: Specialized services for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
  • Polling Trends: Real-time data on voter turnout.

Proven Success in the Field

The ECI did not build this app in a vacuum. The commission first tested the trial version during the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections and several bye-elections. The results were significant. One major achievement was the publication of Index Cards within just 72 hours of the polls closing. Historically, this specific data processing task took weeks or even months to complete.
The app also provides faster updates on polling percentages, giving the public and the media quicker access to accurate trends. Currently, the platform is undergoing constant updates based on technical feedback from Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) and field staff who used the system during the trials.

Leadership and Vision

The development of ECINet began shortly after its announcement on May 4, 2025. This project is a flagship initiative under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, alongside Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi. Their goal is to modernize the democratic process through transparency and speed.
By inviting public suggestions, the ECI hopes to identify any remaining bugs or navigation issues. Every citizen can now play a direct role in improving how India votes. The ECINet App is currently available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

First, ensure you have the official app installed on your smartphone.
  • Android Users: Search for "ECINET" by the Election Commission of India on the Google Play Store.
  • iOS Users: Find the app on the Apple App Store.

2. Login or Register

When you open the app, you may be asked to log in.
If you already have an account from the Voter Helpline App, those credentials should work.

3. Locate the 'Submit a Suggestion' Tab

Once you are on the main dashboard, look for the menu or a dedicated banner.
  • The "Submit a Suggestion" tab is typically located on the home screen or within the side menu (often represented by three horizontal lines).
  • This feature was specifically enabled in Version 1.6.1 to collect public feedback before the official launch.
